Obadiah makes extensive use of metonymy where he mentions one city or region when he is actually referring to the whole or a big part of it. As an example, London
can be used to refer to all of England. In all the cities and places that Obadiah mentions, the basic idea is that the people of Israel will move south, west, north, and east to reclaim the entirety of the Promised Land. There will come a time when they will once again live in the land God had promised them.
