Through stubbornness and pride, a fool’s mind is closed to all advice, and corrections, and therefore to success in his hard work. He turns to his vain and empty heart for intelligence, and is led blindly into many failures.
The wise man, however, is humble enough to realize that he has only a limited perspective on any given question. Thus, he seeks to see and consider matters through the eyes of many counsellors. He is willing to correct his course as necessary to achieve higher and better aims than he at first had conceived.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.
