Death and hell are never full, though they claim countless multitudes. Similarly, one’s eyes may view the entire creation, and still not be satisfied, even if one could possess all that was seen. The reason is that we were made not to exist on this finite, fallen world, but rather to experience that which only the eye of faith can see. The desire of the eyes never satisfies because with them we can only see this world, which is passing away (1 John 2:15–17). Yet faith sees and inherits the city of God, which gloriously endures and satisfies its citizens (Hebrews 11:9–10, Hebrews 11:13–16).
