Proverbs 29:6 (ESV)

6 An evil man is ensnared in his transgression, but a righteous man sings and rejoices.

An evil man using sinful ways to get what he wants, will eventually be trapped by his own sin. He is also an easy target for others, since he is blinded by sin and lacks godly discernment. It is not so with the righteous person who perceives danger by the light of God’s Word, and avoids it by the power of the Holy Spirit, whose heart is at peace with God, and who lovingly trusts the Lord to deliver, protect, and provide in all circumstances. Such a person rightly senses his security in Christ (Romans 8:31–39), and openly rejoices in his salvation, rather than plotting his own destruction.
