Revelation of God the Father

Joshua 20:1–9 (ESV)

1 Then the LORD said to Joshua,

What does Joshua 20 reveal about who God the Father is? The Lord loves justice. He instructs Joshua to set up cities of refuge so that there can be a measure of justice in the land.

The Lord is faithful to his promises. He gave instructions to Moses regarding the establishment of cities of refuge. Now through Joshua he has ensured that these cities are set up in accordance with what he commanded/promised previously.

The Lord communicates with his people. The Lord spoke to Joshua telling him to set up these cities. God communicates with people; he does not stay silent.

God does not discriminate. His justice is fair. The Lord ensures that even the stranger has access to his justice. There is no discrimination based on ethnicity. Likewise, the rich cannot pay a ransom. There is no discrimination on the basis of money.
