Joshua 21:43–45 (ESV)

43 Thus the LORD gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers. And they took possession of it, and they settled there.

God has been faithful to his promise; he has done what he said he would do. That is the major theme of this short passage and it has been given to us in order to emphasize this truth. Yes, much work remains to be done in expelling the last few Canaanites from the land, but if Israel is faithful to the Lord, there is no reason why they will not be able to do so and take full possession of the land.1
