The link between Revelation 14:6–13 to what precedes it

Revelation 14:6–13 (ESV)

6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people.

After the account of the blowing of the seventh trumpet (Revelation 11:15–19), John saw visions of four animals: the dragon (Revelation 12:3), the beast from the sea (Revelation 13:1), the beast from the earth (Revelation 13:11), and the Lamb (Revelation 14:1). The first three animals had sought to destroy the woman (Revelation 12:1) and her offspring (Revelation 12:17). They were, however, not able to and so John could see 144,000 people gathered with the Lamb on Mount Zion (Revelation 14:1). The question now is, What mindset ought humanity to have toward the dragon and his two helper-beasts? This question receives an answer in Revelation 14:6–20Revelation 14:6–20 in turn consists of two subsections: Revelation 14:6–13 provides encouragement to the seed of the woman experiencing the dragon’s fury, while Revelation 14:14–20 describes the harvest of the earth.
