After the account of the blowing of the seventh trumpet (Revelation 11:15–19), John saw visions of four animals: the dragon (Revelation 12:3), the beast from the sea (Revelation 13:1), the beast from the earth (Revelation 13:11), and the Lamb (Revelation 14:1). The first three animals had sought to destroy the woman (Revelation 12:1) and her offspring (Revelation 12:17). They were, however, not able to and so John could see 144,000 people gathered with the Lamb on Mount Zion (Revelation 14:1). The question now is, What mindset ought humanity to have toward the dragon and his two helper-beasts? This question receives an answer in Revelation 14:6–20. Revelation 14:6–20 in turn consists of two subsections: Revelation 14:6–13 provides encouragement to the seed of the woman experiencing the dragon’s fury, while Revelation 14:14–20 describes the harvest of the earth.
6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people.
