What does the golden crown on his head indicate?

Revelation 14:14 (ESV)

14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand.

A crown of gold makes very clear that this passenger is in fact “the ruler of kings on earth” (Revelation 1:5), the One to whom almighty God has given “power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing” (Revelation 5:12).
