The speaker in Revelation 22:6 was the angel who had shown John the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:9-27). This same angel now says, I am coming soon.
Yet he clearly cannot be referring to himself. The book of Revelation is replete with references to Jesus Christ coming (Revelation 1:7; Revelation 2:16; Revelation 3:3, Revelation 3:11; Revelation 16:15). As his messenger, this angel utters these words on Christ’s behalf.
