The chamberlain is convinced. He now removes the food from the king’s table from them. From here on in, they receive at their table only the food requested by Daniel. Upon the obedience of the four friends, the Lord takes away the temptation of the table from them.
16 So the steward took away their food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.
