1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:

Peter encourages Christian believers to know that through faith in Jesus Christ they have everything the need to live a godly life. They share in the same faith as the apostles, God is working in them and he will transform them into his image as they fight against their sinful desires and strive to hold fast to his promises.
