What does 2 Peter 1:5-11 reveal about who God the Father is?
God desires his children to grow in godliness and become more like him. The list of Christian virtues are virtues which Christ Jesus displayed perfectly. They find their root in God who is love.
God desires his children to be useful and productive (2 Peter 1:8). He has rescued us from his wrath and prepared good works for us to walk in (Ephesians 2:10).
God is sovereign in salvation. He has called and elected those who belong to him (2 Peter 1:10).
God is eternal and outside of time which is why Peter can promise a welcome in the eternal kingdom of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:11).
