Is it worth following Jesus if it means losing your life? The answer depends on whether or not there is life after death. If there is no resurrection, then if makes no sense to give up your own desires and ambitions in order to follow Jesus. You have nothing to gain by doing so, only hardship. If however, Jesus’ words are true and there is a resurrection and a future judgment, then it is foolish to indulge your sinful desires and to refuse to believe in Jesus. What good will it be for someone to have all the riches of the world if that means he spends an eternity in hell?
