Daniel 2:46 (ESV)

46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face and paid homage to Daniel, and commanded that an offering and incense be offered up to him.

What is Nebuchadnezzar’s reaction to the explanation of his dream? How does he respond now that the Lord has shown him that the kingdom of Babylon will not last forever and that the kingdom of God alone is eternal? It is clear that Nebuchadnezzar is much impressed. He realizes that this message comes from God. It does not mean, yet, that the king is now free from all kinds of pagan thoughts. The fact that he intends to make a sacrifice for Daniel shows just how deeply pagan thinking is engrained in his mind.
