Christ was honoured through the audible testimony made by the Father at the time of his transfiguration. The divine voice from heaven was a confirmation of the Father’s approval of the Son (see Daniel 4:31; Revelation 11:12; Revelation 16:1).1 Elsewhere in Scripture, glory refers to God’s radiance and splendour (John 12:41; Acts 7:2, Acts 7:55; Ephesians 1:17; Revelation 15:8; Revelation 21:11, Revelation 21:23)2 thus at the transfiguration, the glory which Christ receives refers to the transformation of his face and clothing (see Luke 9:29, Luke 9:32).
