The prophetic word has been more fully confirmed because some of what they prophesied about the Christ has already come to pass. The eyewitness testimony of Peter has confirmed that the Messiah has come, and thus he will also come again.1 The transfiguration in particular have shown that the promises of Christ’s return are to be taken literally and should not be spiritualized.2
