The first thing the Lord does is to give the following wonderful future perspective, But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess the kingship forever, forever and ever
.
When we initially read this verse in relation to Daniel 7:14, the question may arise, how this can be. The eternal dominion has in fact already been given to the Son of Man. Wasn't it already given to him who looked like a man? We see here how important it is to read verses in the context of the whole Bible. By doing this we will learn to see these prophecies in their full richness. It becomes clear that the saints of the Most High God will not reign in place of Christ but together with him! The saints, believers, are also not equal to Christ. He is the King of kings and believers are given the position of kings under God and Christ. We read in the New Testament, The saying is trustworthy, for: if we have died with him, we will also live with him. If we endure, we will also reign with him
2 Timothy 2:11–12. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever
Revelation 22:3–5.
