It is the saints of the Most High who will sit on thrones when the great judgment is pronounced. We read in Daniel 7 of thrones, but not about who will sit on them. We get the answer to this in Revelation 20:4 where believers, God’s people, are described, Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the Word of God; and those who had not worshipped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Now who are these saints? These are the believers of all history. They are the people of God, the church of Christ from Adam to the last chosen one to be born. These saints, these people who have found the atonement for their guilt in Christ’s sacrifice, may be sure that the antichrist does not have the final word, even though at times it may seem that way. Believers are the true kings who, under Christ, will retain this glorious position forever.
27 And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.’
