Just when it looks as if the antichrist is gaining the final victory, the Ancient of Days intervenes. When he appears, justice is done for the saints of the Most High, and the time comes for the saints to take possession of the kingship. At the moment when it seems that the antichrist will deal a final blow to the church of Christ, the Lord appears, bringing his final judgment on the antichrist. The Lord then destroys the power of the fourth beast and its offshoots. His power is totally overthrown and cast into the fire. This points to what is going to happen to satan when the final judgment is pronounced. The antichrist and all the earthly powers bent on their own honour and power, serve him. We read in Revelation 20:9–10 of what is going to happen to the devil who threatens to conquer the saints, And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur.
22 until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when the saints possessed the kingdom.
