The multitude of people mentioned in Luke 6:17 has no interest yet in becoming disciples; they come to listen and above all to be healed (see Luke 6:19).
The work Jesus performs on the possessed should not be called an exorcism, because, in the first place, Jesus does not use incantations, and because, secondly, Jesus heals those who are possessed (as well as those who are sick). Luke 6:18 should be read so that the healing refers to both the sick and the demoniac.
