Daniel 8:13 (ESV)

13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke, “For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?”

Daniel sees how a king rages in the house of God and how he tramples the truth into the ground. It is Antiochus Epiphanes who has the scrolls on which the books of the Bible are written destroyed as much as he could.  He then erects this shameful altar for Zeus. Truth is treated as if it is not worth anything, to be discarded.

The Lord rules and therefore it does not stay this way. Daniel sees two holy ones, probably two angels, talking to each other and they question how long the interruption of the sacrificial worship in the temple will last.
