The man standing on the banks of the Ulai
is Christ. He is the Prince of the army (see also Joshua 5:13–15 in this regard) and it is he, who sends the angel to Daniel. This angel sent, one of the most important, is Gabriel, also spoken of in Daniel 9:21; Luke 1:19, Luke 1:26f. The Lord sends him to convey salient messages in history.
16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, and it called, “Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.”
