This would be a cry or shout of anguish or for help, akin to those cries made by the Israelites in Egypt (Exodus 3:7, Exodus 3:9), those bewailing the destruction caused by enemy forces (Jeremiah 48:3, Jeremiah 48:5), or by those oppressed by their fellow countrymen (Nehemiah 5:1; Isaiah 5:7).1
