In looking forward to the new creation, the prophets expected a world where injustice was no more (Isaiah 9:7; Isaiah 11:4–5; Isaiah 32:16–19; Isaiah 60:21) and the unjust are excluded from the wonderful eternal reign of God (1 Corinthians 6:9–10; Revelation 21:27; Revelation 22:15).1 The new world is thus a place without sin, a place where there is no more evil, a place where God’s goodness, glory, and beauty fill the world.2 A place where everything is done right and properly.
13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
