We can distinguish three parts to this chapter. There is first the introduction that sets the stage for the totality of the vision of fallen Babylon (Revelation 17:3 – 19:10); this introduction is Revelation 17:1–2. This latter section has in turn two subparts: Revelation 17:7–14 relates matters concerning the beast; Revelation 17:15–18 relates matters concerning the prostitute.
