Revelation 17:15–18 is the angel’s explanation about the prostitute John saw. With the mention in Revelation 17:16 that the horns and the beast have ganged up to destroy the prostitute, there is a lovely finality in ending the explanation with a clear statement of the demise of “Babylon.”
18 And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”
