Psalm 1
The idea of guarding and growing is one that we also find in Psalm 1:1–6. The blessed man, because he meditates on God’s Word rather than going along with lawless men (guarding), grows like a tree planted next to streams of waters bearing much fruit. As a result he will stand in the judgment.
14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
