Leviticus 1:1–17 (ESV)

1 The LORD called Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying,

Leviticus 1:1–17 introduces the concept of presenting an offering to the Lord before entering into his presence for worship. This theme runs from chapter 1 all the way through to chapter 7. Chapter 1 introduces various categories of burnt offerings. Chapter 2 deals with grain offerings. Chapter 3 considers the laws for a peace offering, while chapters 4-5 provide guidance for sin offerings. Guilt offerings are covered in chapter 6. Finally, chapter 7 prescribes the duties for the priesthood as they facilitate the offering of the people.
