The tent of meeting is also called the tabernacle (later called the temple). It is the place where the Lord manifested his presence to his covenant people. On this occasion, two purposes of the tabernacle are displayed. Firstly, it is where God reveals his Word to his people. Secondly, it is the place where the people will gather to worship the Lord through sacrifice.
