Exodus 3:13–22 (ESV)

13 Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”

The Lord, Yahweh, continues to be with us today (Revelation 1:4). Jesus Christ his Son, is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Although it may not always look like it to us, as we see the increasing number of attacks on the church, the Lord continues to be bound to the covenant relationship he established with us, and the Source of all being and life is powerful to preserve his church. He stands behind us like a mother bear standing behind her little cub. Do not lose heart. Remember that the Lord, the God of your fathers, the great I am, is with you. He has revealed his name to his church throughout all generations and we may share in the joy of his being, his covenant, and his power, today and evermore.
