The guilty person is required to present a female lamb or goat to the Lord as compensation for their sin. The word “compensation” (’āšām) is different from the word used previously. The female lamb or goat is deemed as reparation for the guilty person hiding himself. The ritual is the same as in Leviticus 4:33–35 and Leviticus 4:28b; Leviticus 4:29–31.
6 he shall bring to the LORD as his compensation for the sin that he has committed, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin offering. And the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin.
