The question is, what are we free to do? Now the negative is: do not do what caused you to come into captivity in the first place, right? I like the old statement,
Michael Voytekfooled me once, shame on you; fooled me twice, shame on me.And so in one sense, we are not freed to go back into sin; to go back into serving that which brought us into captivity. What are we freed to do? We are freed to rebuild what was destroyed. That is what these individuals are called to do.1
5 Then rose up the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, everyone whose spirit God had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the LORD that is in Jerusalem.
