Being bonded together as people of God

Ezra 3:1 (ESV)

1 When the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in the towns, the people gathered as one man to Jerusalem.

The term gathered as one man is sometimes used in the Old Testament to indicate the idea of a strong sense of community. They are there, held together consciously by their faith in God; they are held there, consciously by the bonds of worship of the true God; and they are there, held together with the sense of unity because they have a sense of purpose. Doctrine, worship, and service will bind people together. What we believe, what we hold in common, binds us together. What we believe we are called to do in terms of service, outreach, and ministry binds us together. But we are never more bound together than when we are worshipping the living and true God together.1
