She requests the opportunity to lament on the mountains of Gilead to prepare herself for her untimely death. This is understandable. She as a young girl is told that she is going to have to be killed before her time, and so she goes with some companions for an emotional farewell.
37 So she said to her father, “Let this thing be done for me: leave me alone two months, that I may go up and down on the mountains and weep for my virginity, I and my companions.”
