What fruit follows from the exiles' trials?

1 Peter 1:7 (ESV)

7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The fact that they come through the trials as “the real thing” triggers “praise and glory and honor” for Jesus Christ at the time of his return. It is on account of his work that sinners can be born again (delivered from the narrow and ultimately deadly restrictions of a this-worldly womb) and become heirs of the kingdom of heaven, and it is equally on account of his work that sinners can come through the heat of trials in one piece.
