1. 1 Peter 1:21 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is the purpose of referring to the “glory” God gave the risen Jesus?

1 Peter 1:21 (ESV)

21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Those who are “born again” have a glorious inheritance set aside for them (1 Peter 1:3–4). Peter assures his readers that they are certain to receive this inheritance on grounds that Christ Jesus has already entered glory. The saints may follow where Christ has gone (John 17:24).
