Psalm 29:5–6 (ESV)

5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

The storm (first mentioned in Psalm 29:3) now moves over the land. Lebanon is known for its enormous cedar trees, but they are no match for the greatness of God. Mount Hermon (Sirion—see Deuteronomy 3:9), the holy mountain of the Caananites, jumps like a young wild ox. This may refer to the destruction of pagan temples by storms. Ruins of these temples have been found on Mount Hermon.
