Who is the judge of what is “evil”?

1 Peter 2:16 (ESV)

16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.

Clearly, the Lord God himself is ultimately the judge of what is evil. Those who are born again and who are subsequently seen as aliens and misfits in an unborn society may never disobey the law of God (Acts 4:19; Acts 5:29). Yet in the realities of daily life, those perceived by society as sojourners and exiles do well to avoid what their neighbours see as evil. To embrace what society thinks is evil (though God does not) is to provide fodder for the ignorant talk of foolish people.
