Sermon goal of Acts 4:32-37

Acts 4:32–37 (ESV)

32 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common.

The book of Acts recounts the spread of the early church and the manner in which Christ works to take the gospel from Jerusalem, to Samaria, and finally to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8). In your sermon you must focus on the radical generosity shown by believers. You must explain why the believers were willing to sell their homes and land, what they understood about God’s grace, and what it means to be part of his church? You should also focus on practical things which can be done now to promote fellowship, ways in which we can care for each other. It will also be a good idea to reflect on money and giving—are people encouraged to be generous with their giving? Are there good systems in place to prevent the misuse of money?
