The woman of Revelation 17:3 had arrayed herself in purple and scarlet and gold and jewels and pearls in an effort to make herself attractive to her potential victims (and she was successful). The Lord’s “woman” (that’s the word John uses) has also prepared herself for her Bridegroom, and done so because she’s aware that her wedding day has come.
