Psalm 31
With Stephen echoing the words of Psalm 31:5, this might be a good song to sing before or after your sermon. The aim of Psalm 31 is to encourage God’s church to love him, trust him, and be strong of heart as we wait for Christ’s return (Psalm 31:23–24). Jesus is the only individual who perfectly trusted his Father even when it resulted in pain, loneliness, and betrayal. Like Stephen, we can do the same, knowing that our circumstances do not reflect God’s love for us and that there is a glorious future which awaits us when Christ returns.
