Your sermon must encourage God’s people to trust God to care for them as they pursue the good works that God has prepared for us to walk in. Explain the three exercises that Jesus has given us, and how they can help to foster trust and limit anxiety. Make it clear that God’s promise is not that we will always have bread and water, but that he will care for us, and nothing will separate us from his love (Romans 8:31–39). Encourage believers to be confident in God’s love, on account of the work done for us by our Lord Jesus Christ.
