Even though man may now put more things on his menu, it will take him a lot of effort to get enough food. After the fall, man’s life will be marked by sweat, fatigue and the struggle to survive. This struggle will last until the time of his death.
God fashioned man out of the dust (see Genesis 2:7). The Lord keeps his Word; that means man will die because of sin (see Genesis 2:17). The consequence is that man will return to dust. For other places in the Old Testament where this is clearly communicated, see Job 10:9; Job 34:15; Psalm 103:14; Ecclesiastes 12:7.
19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
