Again, Zophar cruelly describes Job’s own situation in the light of a wicked man’s fate. Job may hope that God will stand up for him on the earth
(Job 19:25). But for Job, the earth will simply be the place where his body and all its former strength will be laid away. (The Hebrew word for earth
and dust
is the same.)
