What does “law” refer to?

Zephaniah 3:4 (ESV)

4 Her prophets are fickle, treacherous men; her priests profane what is holy; they do violence to the law.

The word used is “torah.” In the Old Testament, that term could refer to any of several ideas. The basic meaning of the term is “instruction,” namely, instruction from the Lord. But the word can also refer to the teaching of the five books of Moses, the Ten Commandments, or to the entire Old Testament. The priests failed to teach the law in all its respects.
