Manoah’s wife describes the messenger as “a man of God,” “like the appearance of the angel of God,” and “very awesome.” She is spiritually perceptive. And as the narrative develops, it becomes evident that she is more spiritually perceptive than her husband. For him, it takes the disappearance of the angel in the sacrifice before he realizes that God had appeared to him and his wife.
