Revelation 20:1–10 (ESV)

1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain.

The previous section had recounted what happened to the two notorious beasts of Revelation 13:1–18, those two assistants the dragon had conjured up to aid him in his attack on the woman and her offspring (Revelation 12:17).
