Five times in this passage God is addressed as Father.
This indicates the eternal and intimate relation and bond between the Father and the Son. At the same time, Jesus also calls the Father the Lord of heaven and earth
here. God is the Creator of heaven and earth (see e.g., Acts 17:24; Revelation 14:7). He has authority over heaven and earth. Jesus shows how he wants to obediently honour the God of heaven and earth who has a special plan for the redemption of his creation.
