Revelation of God the Son

1 Samuel 7:1–17 (ESV)

1 And the men of Kiriath-jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD and brought it to the house of Abinadab on the hill. And they consecrated his son Eleazar to have charge of the ark of the LORD.

What does 1 Samuel 7 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? Jesus Christ is God’s anointed prophet, priest, and king. He alone perfectly reveals God to us, intercedes for us, and rules over us. He paid the penalty that I deserve for my sins and disobedience (eternal wrath) and he also perfectly obeyed God’s law in my place so that the blessings which come from obedience can be given to me—blessings which I do not deserve.
