A last strong call to action: Rise up; come to our help!
Deliver us for your sake, your name, your faithfulness. He appeals to God’s unshakeable love (see also Psalm 44:1–7). Your lovingkindness, your faithfulness are the arguments when calling for help and salvation.
In Romans 8:35–39, the victory in Christ is shown. This has not yet been shown like this in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament the name Yahweh was given and is truly sufficient.
Listen to the revelation from the Lord to Moses in Exodus 34:6, The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
Psalm 80:3 reads, Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved!
It makes us think of Psalm 3:7. Psalm 78 is about God’s deeds from the past (see Psalm 44:2). And we read in Psalm 78:65, Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a strong man shouting because of wine.
26 Rise up; come to our help! Redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love!
